What did the Mercedes boss say?

Following the Max Verstappen victory at the US Grand Prix, the focus has now landed on Mexico City, which awaits its first Formula 1 race since 2019. And considering Mercedes and Red Bull’s strengths and weaknesses, it looked like Red Bull might embrace yet another top show at Hermanos Rodriguez circuit.

However, Wolff has another perspective on this. Mercedes have been strong over circuits they were usually weak at, and it’s the same case with Red Bull too. Hence, going by that logic, Wolff opined that there is a “layer of unknown” his team is looking to exploit in Mexico.

Is a Lewis Hamilton victory possible in Mexico?

Very likely! It is almost impossible to downplay the chances of Hamilton winning the race this weekend, solely because of his racing experience. Yes, Red Bull, and more importantly, Verstappen, are fast.

But even with such an aggressive stance to the season, neither of them have been able to shoo the seven-time world champion away from the title fight. Hence, the same might replicate over the Mexican GP as well.

The high-altitude circuit might play to Red Bull’s strengths, but with a much reliable and fresher engine at the back, Hamilton almost zeroes Red Bull’s dominance over Mercedes.

So, are we in for a nail-biting weekend at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez? Well, we’ll know in time.
