Toto Wolff is one of the most influential people in the world of Formula One. The Austrian has guided the Mercedes AMG team to eight consecutive constructors championships. He will be featured extensively on the Netflix show Drive to Survive Season 4.

But interestingly, Wolff was initially hesitant to appear on the breakthrough show. He did not give an interview or present his side in season 1 of the show. But since then he has been one of the mainstays and the star of the show. But he mentioned that the show highly dramatizes some events in the name of entertainment.

It creates heightened tensions and creates unnecessary rivalries for the audiences. Wolff too mentioned that he believes that show spins the narrative to make it more dramatic.

“I’m watching this – episode one, episode two – and I hate it. I never wanted to have the camera in my face. We gradually grew into this. Suddenly you realize that it has become so big everywhere in the world with new audiences, younger audiences,” said Wolff.

“You hate to see yourself in there. They create a spin to the narrative. They put scenes together that didn’t happen. I guess you’d say as an insider, well, that’s different from how it was. But we’re creating entertainment, and that is a new dimension of entertainment,” said the Mercedes team boss.

The Mercedes team boss isn’t the only one who has come out in public in criticizing the show. Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz have also voiced their displeasure towards the show and criticized some of the episodes.
