The tensions between Toto Wolff and Christian Horner were sky high in the 2021 season. The team bosses of Mercedes and Red Bull took digs at each other at every given opportunity during the season. Unsurprisingly, Wolff mentions that he regrets going into a screaming contest with Horner during the season.

As reported by GPFans, Susie Wolff reminded Toto that the Austrian should focus on himself and the Mercedes team. She also mentioned that he should not get dragged into a screaming contest with Christian on camera.

“She asked, ‘Why are you having these kinds of discussions? You’re trying to win, respect that. Even if someone goes in that direction, you don’t have to.” said Toto.

“I always try to stay professional, approach things professionally. However, it got very personal between the two of us at some point. At one point, he told me to shut up. Then I responded by saying he was a windbag and talked too much for the cameras.

I shouldn’t have said that because it’s a professional relationship and you know that even your worst enemy has a best friend. You have to respect that person, even if you fight a hard duel.” said Wolff.

Well, it would be interesting to see if there are some leftover tensions from the previous season going into 2022. It is likely that both teams would be at the front of the grid this season as well. Hopefully, both Toto and Christian will try to keep it civil and professional between them and not throw shades at each other again.
