Mercedes has been a successful outfit since the onset of the V6 Hybrid era, and Toto Wolff has been a crucial cog in the wheel. Since joining the German manufacturer in January 2013, the team has gradually built itself to become an epitome of dominance.
Under Wolff’s direct leadership, Mercedes has won 96 of the 130 races they have competed in. And as the team heads towards a straight seventh Constructors’ Championship, Toto Wolff’s drive to win is higher than ever.

But as it is often said, all good things must come to an end, and former F1 team boss Eddie Jordan claims that the end is that that time is now.
He stated, “I’m sure he’s getting tired of the situation. He’s won all of these championships and he’s created a myth around Lewis Hamilton and indeed the team. In life, you’ve got to remember that there is a very good time to get out and there’s a very bad time to get out.

It would come as a total diversion from the apparent ongoing situation with Wolff and Mercedes if it were to happen. It was supposed that Wolff was in negotiations over a new contract with Mercedes. This would see him take up a varied role instead of a traditional Team Principal gig.
He has previously admitted that the role of a Team Principal was extremely consuming in nature, prompting the need for a change. It is also interesting to note that Wolff holds a 30% share in Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Ltd, the subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz.

This weekend sees Formula 1 travel to Sochi for the Russian Grand Prix to start the second half of the season. As it stands, Mercedes sit atop the tree with 325 points, with Red Bull at their heels with 173 points.
