There we have it, the inevitable has finally happened, Lewis Hamilton has won his 7th F1 World Championship. With an excellent race during tricky conditions in Turkey, Hamilton emerged as the clear winner.

He has thus equaled the record of one Michael Schumacher. When Schumacher left the F1 scene in 2006, no one would have thought his records would ever be broken. Yet, fast forward to fourteen years later, Hamilton has gone on to break the records with considerable ease, it seems.

More importantly, the Briton isn’t done just yet. It looks like he’ll set the bar incredibly high for the next driver who tries to chase down his record.

Speaking after the race Lewis said, “It’s so important for kids out there to see this… Don’t listen to anyone who tells you you can’t achieve something. Dream the impossible. Speak it into existence. You’ve got to work for it, chase it, and never give up!”

After yesterday’s qualifying, it seemed like Hamilton might have to wait until Bahrain to win his 7th Championship. However, thanks to some incredible tire management and a nightmarish performance from teammate Valtteri Bottas (P14), Lewis made sure he sealed the deal post haste.

Within two races, Mercedes and Hamilton have sealed all that was there to play for in the 2020 F1 season. Even his long standing rival, Sebastian Vettel, came up to him after the race and congratulated him for making history.

Surely, the man deserves a knighthood, right?

As Lewis Hamilton steals the spotlight teammate Bottas has a race to forget

Hamilton will grace the front page of every newspaper, and rightly so. But Bottas on the other end of the spectrum had an absolutely horrendous race.

The Finn got off to a horrid start as he suffered a spin going into Turn 1. Thereafter, he dropped down to the back of the grid, had a few more spins, struggled for grip, and was dealt the ultimate shame as Hamilton lapped him towards the end of the race.

However, he could perhaps be thankful to Lewis since his poor race would not really be remembered in the midst of Hamilton’s brilliance and a multiplicity of talking points.

Coming back to Hamilton, with 3 more races to go, don’t expect the Mercedes superstar to be caught slacking. Expect him to come out all guns blazing yet again in Bahrain on the 29th of November, where he will be looking for victory number 95.
