But Ferrari team’s Principal, Mattia Binotto revealed that Mick will get sessions to drive the F1 car later this year. He also opened up about Mick’s chances of competing in F1 by next year.
Mick Schumacher, son of the seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher, has been performing well at F2 at the moment. He managed to win the race last weekend at the Italian Grand Prix after starting the race from P7. He is currently driving for the team PREMA Racing.

Mattia Binotto mentioned that he is planning to give Mick Schumacher enough training in F1 before the next season.
“I think that Mick has a chance of possibly driving in Formula 1 next year“, said the team principal. “He should be prepared for this with a deployment in a real F1 session“.
Binotto also spoke out on Mick’s performance at F2 this year. “We are very happy that he is performing so well in Formula 2. His focus must also continue to be on the F2 because he is fighting for the championship there,” said Binotto.
