The downfall of Daniel Ricciardo in F1 has been the biggest story of F1 for the past 2 years. Ricciardo had become a journeyman, switching teams and not getting the desired success. A touted world champion now is without a full-time seat in F1. While fans may feel bad for the Aussie driver, Daniel still tries to maintain his wide grin. Of course, being back at his “home” team Red Bull is a big boost to his morale. Though, Red Bull will utilize the growing stardom of Ricciardo to the fullest, despite his recent struggles.

According to Sports Business Journal, Ricciardo’s agents at CAA Sports are looking to leverage the Australian driver’s immense popularity in the US. His agents at CAA have cited how his different business ventures can gain a good commercial boost while he refocuses himself on his racing career.

Mainly, Ricciardo and CAA chose his Red Bull third driver role as the ideal one due to several reasons. One of those reasons was how even RBR has the US market as its top priority. Besides this, Daniel also gets the competitive aspects such as testing the RB cars, sim work, as well as the marketing attention with show runs and events from Red Bull.

Likewise, even Red Bull would love to utilize the Australian’s experience and marketing pull in the US. Thus, they may be willing to exploit his stardom in America to their advantage with multiple marketing events and show runs.

The Honey Badger is also quite comfortable in the team’s atmosphere, having been with RBR. So, he won’t mind getting some good commercial attention with 3 races in the USA in 2023.

Besides the Red Bull responsibilities, Daniel is also very interested in the Las Vegas GP. For the same, Ricciardo is aiming to associate with the inaugural race in Vegas in some capacity. CAA is also looking to line up a possible TV opportunity for the Aussie.

Red Bull Reserve Daniel Ricciardo to Show his Grin on TV?

According to his agents at CAA, there may be a possible TV appearance role for Daniel Ricciardo. Now, this role is “adjacent to the F1 world”, but there is no information on what exactly it pertains to. Daniel’s agents have confirmed that it ain’t a traditional F1 punditry role.

Looking at Daniel’s rising popularity, it might be something exciting that engages fans as well as keeps him in the spotlight of the F1 world. Precisely so, as Ricciardo has clarified how Formula 1 is where he wants to be right now. Therefore, it makes sense for him to create that engagement where F1 teams can notice him.

While there is also a remote possibility of Daniel getting a one-off race opportunity from Red Bull. It may seem quite difficult, but if Max Verstappen or Sergio Perez has to sit out due to some reason; the reserve man Ricciardo fills up for them.

And given the top performance of Red Bull’s car right now, the Honey Badger may get the perfect chance to plot an F1 return. A sizzling performance, maybe a race win, and Daniel is back in the shout for an F1 seat again. While, if this scenario happens at one of the American races in Austin, Miami, or Vegas, it will be utopian.
