Max Verstappen and Lando Norris are fierce rivals on the tracks but are quite good friends when not competing. Like most F1 drivers, Norris and Verstappen both live in Monaco which helps their friendship further. This leads to the McLaren driver knowing the 3-time world champion’s girlfriend Kelly Piquet and her daughter Penelope Kvyat. Over the years, it seems like Penelope has formed a bond with Norris.

We all know that Penelope Kvyat has often visited the tracks to support Max Verstappen and one of the recent times that she did so was at the Australian Grand Prix. In that race, the defending champion ended up retiring from the race as there was a fire in his rear brake caliper. While Penelope must have been sad with Verstappen having a DNF, Lando Norris attained a podium finish giving her a reason to celebrate. After the race was done, the 4-year-old and the McLaren P3 driver shared a moment that has only recently started to make waves online.

Recently, a video has surfaced that had been hidden from most of the world for over a month. A clip that now has made its way to Twitter and Instagram has caught the attention of F1. In the video, the 4-year-old is seen hugging Lando Norris and then snuggling with the McLaren driver. The sight is just too adorable to miss, and the bystanders think so too.

Penelope Kvyat is dressed in an adorable sky-blue skirt and a pink sweater, wearing a kangaroo backpack to enjoy Australia in style. It seems like the 4-year-old has come to become fond of not only her mother’s boyfriend, Verstappen, but also his peers from the racing world.

The internet world was not far behind in celebrating this moment. Lando Norris’s tender care towards Penelope was adored by the fans as one of the fan commented, “The shape in the puts the head on Lando’s abdomen is tender.” Another fan got on to the “Uncle” Norris train as he showered his love for Penelope by saying, “You can tell he is an uncle hahaha.” There were other fans who were excited to see how they “love F1 drivers interaction with P” and how Penelope has become a “Superstar” of her own right.

This is no surprise considering her father was an F1 driver too and so was her grandfather, Nelson Piquet. Penelope has her life rooted in motorsport and she is a social child, this makes her a popular figure in the Formula 1 world. Although Penelope Kvyat was happy that Norris finished on the podium, she was still unhappy that Max Verstappen did not finish the race and was put in a dangerous situation.

The Effect of Max Verstappen’s Australian DNF on Penelope Kvyat

The fact that Max Verstappen did not finish the Australian Grand Prix was saddening news for Red Bull fans. Probably not as heartbreaking as it was for Penelope who made it to the circuit to watch the race. When she asked Verstappen what happened during the race, the current world champion told her “Well the car was on fire!

Maybe Verstappen did not think much about how it would impact the 4-year-old, but her mother started to get worried that Penelope would feel like she was bad luck at races for Max. However, after winning the Japanese Grand Prix Max Verstappen explained his girlfriend’s state of mind saying, “I think Kelly is glad nothing happened today, otherwise she [Penelope] might feel as if she brings bad luck.”
