Valtteri Bottas Reveals Words of Wisdom Shared by Alfa Romeo Predecessor Kimi Raikkonen

Valtteri Bottas has recently talked about retired F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen. The Former Mercedes man has revealed that Kimi has given him some advice after the last race at Abu Dhabi. Valtteri Bottas replaced Kimi at Alfa Romeo this season.

Bottas left Mercedes at the end of last year to pave way for George Russell. The Finn has joined the Italian team on a multi-million dollar contract for three years. For the 2022 season, Bottas has partnered with rookie Guanyu Zhou from China at the Hinwil-based team.

Talking about Kimi, Bottas conveyed to Italian newspaper La Gazetta Dello Sport, “I heard from Kimi Raikkonen at the end of last year. He explained something to me about the work within this team, and he spoke highly of Alfa Romeo, of its potential, telling me that I would have fun.”

Driving for this iconic Italian brand is an honor, I feel the responsibility to bring the brand back to the top, but I don’t consider it a pressure, indeed I think it is a great motivation.“, the Finland international further stated.

What to expect from Valtteri Bottas at Alfa Romeo?

The New Alfa Romeo Recruit joined the team with huge experience. Bottas had a pretty decent career at Mercedes for five years. The former Williams man played the role of a perfect teammate to Lewis Hamilton back in the Brackley base.

Valtteri finished his five seasons at Mercedes in P3, P5, P2, P2, and P3 positions, respectively. His last 5-year record says it all for the 32-year-old. With 10 race wins and 67 podium finishes in his F1 career, Bottas is indeed one of the finest drivers of this generation.
