Lewis Hamilton isn’t exactly what an F1 driver’s image is in the minds of people. People still believe in the 80s drivers’ image, the fun, party animal, James Hunt kind of guy. Hamilton is on a completely another spectrum of this as he refuses to compromise on his elite value, whether it is on track, for his $140 Million venture with Brad Pitt or otherwise. But what is this elite value?

Lewis Hamilton is amongst one of the most socially active drivers on the F1 grid. Being the only driver of color on the grid, the Briton realizes how difficult rising through the ranks of motorsports is. Hamilton uses his platform to enlighten people about the social evils around the world and has been in support of diversifying the F1 grid. Hamilton is hugely in favor of the F1 academy that aims at promoting women across all the spectrums of motorsports.

The same values continued when Hamilton decided to select the cast for his upcoming F1-themed movie with Brad Pitt. The Briton is very much involved in the movie as the $140,000,000 venture is believed to be a passion project. Continuing on his values, Hamilton advised that he made sure that the cast of the movie hailed from diverse backgrounds. According to the M4 Sports YT video, Hamilton said, “I have been a part of the casting process, in terms of really pushing to make sure it’s diverse.”

While not all the actors are known, we know that Damson Idris, who comes from a Nigerian background will partner Brad Pitt as the teammate in the movie. Even a Red Bull member praised Hamilton for his efforts toward diversification of the F1 Grid.

Calum Nicholas praised Lewis Hamilton for “starting the conversation”

Calum Nicholas is a senior Red Bull Power unit technician and is amongst the most recognizable faces in the F1 paddock. Nicholas himself is from a colored background. The Red Bull member advised how nobody talked about diversification of the F1 Grid and garages. But ever since Lewis Hamilton’s arrival, these things have been talked about and actually addressed a concern. Hamilton talking about the lack of diversity actually started the conversation.

According to the Track Limits podcast, Calum Nicholas said, “What I will say is, firstly, we have to thank Lewis for starting the conversation.” He added, “One thing I will say is when I started in 2009, it’s a lot better now but the problem was still there then. But no one was having a conversation about it, there was no discussion to be had. So one of the things we have to thank Lewis for, actually all of us need to thank Lewis for is just having the conversation started.”
