Villeneuve Urges Ferrari F1 to End Italian Bias With a Sad Prediction

“Ferrari will have to start all over again”. Former World Champion Jacques Villeneuve lost no time in spitting out the truth. The 2020 season started pretty badly for Ferrari.

After six races, the Italian team stands fifth on the list. Mercedes leads the pack with Red Bull in second place. Even McLaren and Racing Point are ahead of them.

Ferrari’s ideology of keeping it a true Italian team is one of the reasons behind their downfall. Their glory days are over. If they wish to succeed, then they’ll have to look beyond the Italian boundary.

Some of the most important heads of the team are Italians. Therefore, at times, it becomes difficult to carry out proper operations.

“They want to make Ferrari a true Italian team, but I don’t think this is a precondition for success in modern Formula 1”, Jacques said.

The team is facing extremely difficult tasks and it will take a lot of time for them to get up. Maybe it will take at least two years

To be successful in Formula 1, one needs to have the best possible resources. With new technologies pouring in, races are becoming more competitive than ever. To sneak out of a tiny window and succeed, one should better than the rest.

Ferrari is having a tough situation out on the tracks. Sebastian Vettel’s miserable form continues to haunt the Italian outfit. However, Vettel is all set to leave Ferrari by the end of this term. With Carlos Sainz coming in to replace him, Ferrari aims to speed towards a new era of success with two young drivers on board.

Vettel came to Ferrari a 4-time World Champion. He wished to continue his form and keep up the legacy of Ferrari. Showing his brilliance for a few seasons, he wandered off-track over the last couple of years.

With his contract set to expire later this year, his destination remains a mystery. However, there have been strong rumors about him joining Racing Point. Though a formal agreement is yet to materialize.

Lying fifth in the Constructors’ Championship Standings, Ferrari are desperate for change. However, it seems like they are out of options for now.
