There’s always a difference of opinion in a large group of people, but Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo united the crowd at Silverstone. Despite Norris’s consistent finish in points, the Mclaren team is still not where they would like to be. Currently, fourth in the championship standings, the Woking-based team is a whopping 123 points behind Mercedes in third.

The massive gap is because of only one driver scoring most of the points as Ricciardo’s struggles continue. Ricciardo is yet to show his potential in the MCL36 with just two finishes in the top ten. Safe to assume it’s not been a great season for Mclaren and both the drivers.

However, Norris, the Briton is racing at home this weekend and he would want to get a second podium of the current season at Silverstone. Although, the fans attending the Friday sessions for the British GP don’t seem to agree.

An interviewer while talking to Norris and Ricciardo produced comedic gold with her line of questioning. She asked the fans, “Are they going to get into points?” to which the crowd reacted with an enormous cheer.

Her follow-up question did some damage as she asked, “Are they going to get on the podium?” and the crowd went absolutely silent. The reaction even cracked Norris and said, “No podium for us this weekend.”

This was absolutely savage from the British fans as the entire section unanimously trolled the two Mclaren men. We can’t blame the fans as well for their reaction, such is the pace of the MCL36.

The hilariously savage reaction from the British fans did not take time to make its rounds on Twitter. The defining silence from the fans was so well-timed to the question it almost feel staged.

In a way, the fans voiced their opinion on Mclaren’s realistic chances over the weekend. And they’re not wrong. The Red Bull and Ferrari are too strong and way ahead of the competition.

However, an F1 race is not streamlined and anything can happen in a race. A crash, unreliability issues, or brilliant strategy can come into play, giving Mclaren a podium. Won’t that be a sight?
