Carlos finished P5 in the championship and was 5.5 points ahead of his teammate. It was even more impressive as it was the first season for the Spanish driver in Ferrari.

Although Charles defeated Carlos 14 times in head-to-head battles in 2021, the Spanish driver was way too consistent throughout the season. The Ferrari driver admitted it hurt him after he finished behind his teammate in the last race of the season to take P7.
