The United States Grand Prix Qualifying turned out to be an intense battle till the end of Q3, with Lewis and Max trying to upstage each other, and even Checo Perez sneaking in with a time that put him on provisional pole for some time. Finally, Max came out on top after putting together an immense lap and going 0.209 seconds faster than title contender Lewis Hamilton. Fan attempts a shoey at the US Grand Prix Quali Session

During Q2, the cameras turned to the grandstand and we caught a glimpse of a Ricciardo fan, pouring his drink into his boot and then drinking from it, something we better know as a ‘Shoey’. Popularised by Daniel Ricciardo, it is something the Australian driver does every time he gets on the podium, and now even fans have taken on the challenge to drink from their shoe.

Daniel Ricciardo put up an impressive Quali performance

McLaren driver and media sweetheart Daniel Ricciardo, who introduced the concept of shoey in Formula 1, has done a pretty good job in the US GP Quali Session. He ran P1 for a few laps in Q1, and then he struggled a bit in Q2. He got his lap times deleted for crossing the white line once, just like Red Bull driver Perez did.
