The United States Grand Prix Qualifying turned out to be an intense battle till the end of Q3, with Lewis and Max trying to upstage each other, and even Checo Perez sneaking in with a time that put him on provisional pole for some time. Finally, Max came out on top after putting together an immense lap and going 0.209 seconds faster than title contender Lewis Hamilton. However, the main highlight of the Quali session surprisingly did not happen on the track; it was in the grandstands.

McLaren driver and media sweetheart Daniel Ricciardo, who introduced the concept of shoey in Formula 1, has done a pretty good job in the US GP Quali Session. He ran P1 for a few laps in Q1, and then he struggled a bit in Q2. He got his lap times deleted for crossing the white line once, just like Red Bull driver Perez did.

Then, he came back for another lap and got through to Q3 coming 9th in the standings. In Q3, he managed to outqualify his teammate Lando Norris and is now all set to start tomorrow’s race at P7.
