Monaco is the crown jewel of F1. Arguably, this is one GP that every driver looks forward to winning. The overtakes are almost impossible, and with the cars becoming wider than ever, drivers are more prone to accidents.

The 32-year-old qualified P3 for the GP, after spinning and causing a red flag in Q3. However, the Mexican was quick the entire race weekend and arguably performed even better than teammate Max Verstappen.

Fans and the F1 fraternity were extremely happy with the Mexican’s win. With a brilliant strategy, Perez managed to over-cut race leader Leclerc and maintained his lead. He led several laps and did not yield to Sainz‘s pressure of an overtake. Notably, his win comes right after his denied victory in Spain, where he was asked to let Verstappen through.

Moreover, Checo has become the third contender to possibly win the championship year. Sitting on 110 points and only 15 points behind his Dutch team mate, he is very much in the race to win a title this year. The Mexican sits only 6 points behind Leclerc and might also take over the Monegasque soon.

Notably, Perez was in contention over his Red Bull seat with Pierre Gasly. However, with this win and solid consecutive performances, the Mexican arguably is not going anywhere. So, what are your predictions for him? Will Checo win more races?
