Lando Norris turns 22 today! The McLaren driver will celebrate his birthday in São Paulo as he is competing in the Brazilian Grand Prix in Interlagos. He will look to make up a few positions in the F1 sprint to give himself a better chance of a result in the race tomorrow.

But in his interview with Ziggo Sport, Lando jokily mentioned that he is targeting pole position. The young Brit stated he feels old and mentioned that like Jack Plooij, he also has got some grey hair.

When asked if the pole position would be a nice gift for him, Lando replied,” yeah yeah yeah… For sure we will be on pole position.” 

But when Plooij reminded him of his birthday,” I know I know.

What was it, 22?” asked Plooij, teasingly.

26,” replied Norris hilariously.

“No, I’m happy. 22, I’ll be 22. I feel old already. My hair is going like you, a bit grey.” said Norris. When Plooij asked him what he said about his hair, Norris complimented by mentioning that it is beautiful. ” No, look. I got follow like your hairstyle like a bit more back. You’re my idol,” said Norris.

I felt a lot more confident with the car: Lando Norris

As reported by McLaren, the Brit mentioned he was happy with his qualifying result. He stated he felt a bit more confident in the car as compared to FP1, in which he was struggling.

“I think we have to be happy with qualifying because we were struggling quite a bit this morning in FP1. After making some good improvements coming into quali, I felt a lot more confident with the car.

We would’ve loved to have been ahead of the Ferraris, but we have to take P8 and P9 today because they were quicker. We’re in a good position to fight them tomorrow,” said the McLaren driver.

In the battle with Ferrari, McLaren would hope that Norris could pass their rivals in Sprint. He is starting from P8 behind Charles Leclerc and ahead of his teammate.
