There aren’t many drivers who are known more famously by their nickname. Kimi Raikkonen is one such driver who never fails to live up to his nickname- the Iceman. the F1 community gave the Finnish driver that moniker for being ice-cool, enigmatic, and blindingly fast on the grid.

We have widely known Kimi Raikkonen for being honest, blunt, and downright to the point. Just a few days ahead of the season opener, Alfa Romeo Racing shared an incredible video from Minttu Raikkonen, Kimi’s wife.

In the video, the Finnish driver embodied his nickname, the Iceman, by name and by nature. On a cold snowy day, Kimi took a dive into an open pool with a splash!

The Finnish driver earned his nickname during his career for the lack of expression displayed in press conferences and on cameras. He appeared ‘cold’, calm, and absolutely under control.

Kimi Raikkonen has given the Formula 1 community many unforgettable moments as the iceman. Heikki Kulta, an acclaimed Finnish reporter, shared a few classic Kimi Raikkonen moments.

When Kulta asked him what was his first impression of the new car, Kimi replied, “It is complete sh*t.”

“I obviously could not pass this message on in the magazine, so, in English, I wrote that the car had not been exactly what Kimi had hoped it would be… Nevertheless, it was true,” recalled the Finnish reporter.

This was an interesting moment, where the reporter had to tone down the words said by a Formula 1 driver. That can only happen with Raikkonen.
