Scuderia Ferrari and McLaren are all over the news especially since Sebastian Vettel chose to leave the Italian team. This set of a massive chain reaction of rumours about what is next for the F1 driver market. In all this, Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris are left without teammates for the time-being.

Luckily for them, it didn’t last very long, as Norris will team up with Daniel Ricciardo. Meanwhile, Leclerc is set to partner Carlos Sainz Jr, though Vettel’s future is up in the air. However, neither of the two drivers knew about the fate of the second drivers’ seats.

In a recent Twitch chat, they discovered that they were not following each other on Discord. When Norris offered to send him a friend request, Leclerc said, “I need friends, I feel lonely.”

Norris then mused that the two of them are going through some tough times. Suffice to say, Leclerc agreed with his colleague.

What were Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris really referring to?

It is also worth speculating that the COVID-19 situation may finally be getting to them. Having been cooped up in their homes for so long, they could increase the risk of cabin fever. Obviously, nobody likes being confined to one location for so long, or they would go crazy.

Granted, Leclerc and Norris both have video games and simulator races to keep them occupied. However, the simulator games can only entertain them for so long. At some point, they may get bored of playing online and wishing for the real thing. Additionally, nobody has had any face-to-face human contact for a long time and the drivers are missing each other.

The good news is that F1 is working hard to kick-start the season, hopefully by July. Tentatively, F1 has scheduled the Austrian Grand Prix by the first week of July.
