Norris put in a stellar lap as well, making it into the top 3. However, his lap time was deleted due to track limits being exceeded. Therefore, the young British driver had to start from seventh place but still had an excellent race.

However, the 21-year-old redeemed himself as he took P3, while Hamilton took second and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen took his first win for the season.

The fact that the young McLaren driver gave the Woking-based outfit get their first podium of the season despite starting from P7 shows just how talented he is. While it was a much-deserved podium, the Briton believes there is still work to be done.

In the post-race interview as quoted by Motorsport.com, Lando said, “I definitely would say so, that it is a deserved podium today. If you look at the two guys that have been in front of us, they are the reference in this sport together with their teams at the moment. Therefore, it is obviously very, very good to finish in P3.”
