The Mercedes had a great weekend in Miami, with both drivers finishing in the top 10. Further, Lewis Hamilton went to a party with his friends and team members after the inaugural Miami GP.

The seven-time world champion had a poor weekend in the Imola, finishing P13. The English driver was struggling with the W13 and also got stuck in the DRS train. So, he came to the Miami GP with the hopes to perform better.

It seems Hamilton stood up to his hopes, finishing P6 behind his young teammate George Russell. After the race, the seven-time world champion decided to celebrate the P6 finish with his crew.

The Miami GP has been no less than a carnival. Aside from the race, it also had various events and thrilling places to enjoy, like clubs and bars. Lewis Hamilton was spotted with his physiotherapist, Angela Cullen, dancing in a club in Miami.

Lewis Hamilton avoided the extra pit-stop gamble in Miami

The seven-time world champion isn’t a huge fan of safety car sessions anymore after the infamous Abu Dhabi GP last season. However, the safety car session also haunted the driver in races this season in Jeddah and Melbourn.

Hamilton had to miss out on a pit stop during Jeddah race because of Ricciardo’s car stopping in front of the pit-lane entry during the VSC session. Further, the Briton again lost his position to Russell after the safety car session in Melbourne. So, the driver decided to avoid pitting during the safety car session in the Miami GP.

There was a Safety Car after Lando Norris‘ crash. Many drivers, including Russell, decided to make a pit during the VSC session. After Russell’s pit stop, the Mercedes team asked Hamilton to pit. But Hamilton rejected the offer to not lose his position to his young teammate. However, Hamilton eventually lost the position to Russell, who was on faster and fresher tires.

Hamilton finished the race at P6, where he started the race. Meanwhile, his teammate Russell finished P5 despite starting the race from P12. After the race, Hamilton shared his reason for not pitting, “When you’re given the responsibility to make the decision it feels like your gambling and I don’t like that. I was like, ‘you guys make the decision’. Either way, we’ve just been unfortunate with the timing of the safety car today.”
