Hamilton shared a complicated relationship with former teammate Nico Rosberg. The British driving duo apparently knew each other a long time before working at Mercedes together. Well, famously, Lewis later claimed to not be friends with Nico after tensions for the title win grew between them. Several Formula 1 fans claim that since then Hamilton has not forged a meaningful friendship with anyone.

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have no bad blood

A recent post by Red Bull F1 team shows him bumping fists with Max. While both stood next to each other for a photo, things looked just fine. The Dutchman and Lewis shared an uneasy 2021 season, which even saw them crashing into each other on more than one occasion. Throughout the season, they also used several questionable words for each other on the team radio.

However, the two have claimed to have mutual respect for each other. Max earlier sympathized with the Briton after the Abu Dhabi defeat and wished for him to not leave the sport. Lewis recently opened up about his relationship with Max too, he said, “We’re fighters, there’s no friends on the track, and so it’s a constant… some days we get it right, sometimes we get it wrong, but it’s important we keep respect.”

Lewis further commented on how social media can immensely impact narratives. He revealed, “If I’d read the comments after Silverstone, the racial abuse, I could have downward spiralled into a negative place. I don’t let that volatile medium control myself,”

“You’ve got to be careful because obviously the way the media hype up the drama, also creates a narrative to the fans, and for me and Max”.
