The Mercedes garage saw some major changes at the start of this season. They waved goodbye to Valtteri Bottas, who had been with the team since the 2017 season. The Finn made the switch to Alfa Romeo. However, he still has a close relationship with the team, especially team boss, Toto Wolff and former teammate Lewis Hamilton.

The trio was recently seen sharing a jet after the Austrian GP. The three have enjoyed 5 great seasons together, winning the constructors’ title each year. Now, even after Bottas has parted ways with the team, he still enjoys a good rapport with his former teammates.

The person taking the video jokingly asked Toto if he could join them on the flight. To this Wolff bluntly replies, “No you cannot fly with us”.

However, it is great to see that Bottas shares such a wonderful friendship with Lewis that he continues to fly with his old group.

Valtteri Bottas might have switched teams at the start of this season. However, his travel buddy has remained constant. The Finn continues to fly to and from most races with former Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton.

He recently opened up about their friendship as well. Bottas, during an interview with People.com, said, “It’s been nice. It was pretty natural”

“So we are still sharing flights. In a way, nothing has changed”

“We are not team-mates but still mates. It’s nice. We have a good relationship in a way. We did achieve quite a bit of things together as team-mates.”

“I think that kind of friendship will for sure last too.”

Bottas has had a difficult few races recently after a great start to the season. He finished outside the points in Austria in P11. Although, he will be hoping for a better showing at the French GP up next.
