While Lewis Hamilton has been a star of the sport, his spotlight has always been divided. Hamilton has had numerous sponsorships, considerably so, and is probably the most recognized man on the planet; yet this attention is always shared. The lionized driver has always shared the adoration with his beloved pup, Roscoe, and recently, they shared their time w1in front of the camera.
In a recent campaign, Mercedes Benz UK congratulated the Brit for his knighthood. The video was complete with its slender machine and a dear “woof!” from Roscoe. With a voiceover linking Hamilton to his four-legged friend, Mercedes claimed, “Lewis shows incredible bulldog spirit when he gets behind the wheel.”

Further, the ad read: “Perfect for driving days and Knights. Still I Rise; Arise, Sir Lewis.”

The clever ad was a touching mark of respect to the driver, who has been the leading man of the marque’s F1 team. After over 82 victories and six titles with the team, while working towards causes that require attention, Hamilton has truly been an icon in the world of motorsports.
Motorsports dignitaries congratulate Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton is now the fourth F1 driver to receive the honors of knighthood; following in the footsteps of Sir Jackie Stewart, Sir Stirling Moss, and Sir Jack Brabham. As Hamilton found himself on a prestigious list, the congratulations poured in from the world of motorsports.
F1’s beloved commentator, David Croft, congratulated the driver in true Crofty style. “Richly deserved and long overdue. Congratulations Sir Lewis Hamilton – Is it ‘Knights Out & Away We Go’ from now on?”

F1 champion Damon Hill sent his well wished to his compatriot in a rather hilarious Instagram post. Former FIA president Jean Todt said, “congratulations Lewis Hamilton on being awarded a knighthood, one of your country’s highest distinctions, for your titles and commitments. It is also recognition for motorsport in general.”
Lastly, it was Mercedes’ team boss, Toto Wolff, who sent some words of encouragement to his driver. “The news that he is to receive a knighthood shows that he is now receiving the recognition he has earned during a career of unparalleled success in motorsport. The UK can be very proud to have a champion and ambassador of the caliber of Sir Lewis Hamilton.”
