Lewis Hamilton and Angela Cullen – a combination that has often left the entire F1 community in awe. The 7-time world champion’s first task after winning a race has been to give his physiotherapist/assistant a long hug before heading towards his Mercedes crew.

Why? Because Cullen has been one of the most important parts of Hamilton’s racing life. For instance, Cullen was indeed the reason Hamilton managed to recover from the Monza incident at such a rapid pace, thanks to her acupuncture.

Furthermore, she has also kept the Briton both physically and mentally strong through the rough and tough years. So, one would reckon Hamilton and Cullen are the best pair-up in Formula 1.

However, what if we say there ‘could’ be a better driver-physio combination? Well, in this case, let’s keep Cullen and replace the Briton with another driver – Daniel Ricciardo.

Daniel Ricciardo & Angela Cullen have a chat in Brazil

We’ve hardly seen Cullen conversing with drivers other than Hamilton and Bottas. Hence, here we have, possibly for the first time, Cullen having a happy chat with her near-compatriot, Ricciardo ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend on Thursday.

Although their conversation isn’t audible enough, it seems as if the duo were busy talking about the return of the spectators to the stands after a rather quiet 2020 season.

Ricciardo mentioned that the atmosphere in Brazil also resembles Austin. “It’s like Austin. Austin was nice as well,” he said.

Then, the Kiwi spoke about how she never missed the fan presence in 2020 but, now, regretting she felt like that. “When we were in COVID, I’m not missing them. But, now, I’m really missing them,” Cullen can be heard saying.

Why Ricciardo could be much closer to Cullen than Lewis Hamilton

Well, of course, this could be entirely different in reality, but on paper, here’s what we think about Cullen pairing up with Ricciardo. The only reason why we think Ricciardo and Cullen might work is that they share a similar heritage.

Although not from the same country, both emerge from a similar part of the world – the Australian continent. While Ricciardo is from Australia, Cullen is from New Zealand. Hence, from that perspective, teaming up together wouldn’t be that complex. Also, Ricciardo has the ability to create a healthy relationship with pretty much anyone.

But, yes, this doesn’t sound practical enough in reality. Considering the fact that Hamilton is inching towards retirement and their incredible relationship on and off the track, there is almost nil chance that Cullen would leave ‘Team LH’.
