WATCH: Lewis Hamilton’s Helmet Surmounts the Oscar as Comedian Travon Free Shows Support

In a championship battle this intense, there has been a clear split up of team Hamilton and team Verstappen. While fans continue to show their support for their drivers, so do the celebrities! American comedian Travon Free made it known that he’s rooting for Lewis Hamilton in his own unique way.

The comedian-writer was honored with an Oscar for his film ‘Two Distant Strangers’. Free went on to add a very interesting accessory to his trophy – a mini Lewis Hamilton helmet. Travon Free added, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say I’m the first person to put a Lewis Hamilton helmet in an Oscar?”

Not a bad look on the trophy, it even suits the comedian’s desk space! For someone who thrives in his fan’s support, Hamilton has eight more races in the season to soak in their love.

With the chances of another collision unlikely, it wouldn’t be surprising. Max Verstappen‘s aggressive defense only forces Hamilton to attack harder. And in a battle where neither driver is willing to back down, the intensity is sure to rise.

Former F1 driver, Martin Brundle, explained, “they’ve got to keep it sensible, of course–but we know how aggressive Max is, and Lewis knows that, and Lewis knows you’ve got to fight fire with fire.”

As the two drivers face the lights at Sochi, five points separate the two. Max will look to broaden the gap to Lewis while the Brit would fight for his position after his 100th win. Brundle rightly stated, “I think there was a bit of history there from Imola, from Barcelona, from Silverstone–and Lewis knows he can’t yield to Max. Max is aggressive. One way or another, they’re going to keep meeting in the middle.”
