WATCH: Max Verstappen Leads Red Bull F1 Garage Into a Celebratory Rendition of ‘We are the Champions’

Max Verstappen is the 2021 Formula One world champion. The Red Bull driver had been pushing himself to the limit all season long, and it seems to have paid off, as he defeated his arch-rival and title contender Lewis Hamilton to the title at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Hence, it is understandable that the Dutch driver was over the moon as he celebrated this spectacular victory. He was seen having a good time with his Red Bull colleagues and closest aides.

The situation between Hamilton and Verstappen was tense as they headed into the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this past weekend. In dramatic fashion, it was the Red Bull driver who came out on top.

The Red Bull garage was buzzing with happiness and so was Verstappen. The 24-year-old was singing the iconic “We are the champions”, alongside his colleagues and it was quite fitting given the situation.

The Dutch driver has massive respect for Lewis

Undoubtedly, Hamilton and Verstappen gave the F1 community a great title fight for the entire 2021 season. There have been some heated moments between the two talented drivers, but the Red Bull prodigy still holds Hamilton in high regard.

He said, “I have a lot of respect for Lewis, but you know, I’m just very happy that I won in general because it’s been of course a very tough season fighting against Mercedes and Lewis. But I don’t want to sound… arrogant or whatever, to say that it’s a great satisfaction to win against him.”

“I just have a lot of respect for him, and I know he’s an amazing driver in terms of what he’s achieved but I’m just very happy that we won it,”  Verstappen explained.
