Sainz is surely excited to move to the Maranello based team and join Charles Leclerc. The young and hungry pair will be eager to work together with the team and help change the fate of Ferrari after an underwhelming season.

Sainz raced for McLaren for two years. He has two podium finishes to his name and claimed both of them driving for McLaren. A P3 finish at Interlagos in 2019 and a P2 finish at Monza during this season.

He helped McLaren replace Ferrari in the Top 3 position on the constructors’ championship. Meanwhile, McLaren had an emotional message for Ferrari and their fans, the Tifosi.

Great momentum for McLaren going into 2021

McLaren secured the most wanted P3 position in the constructors’ championship this season. The championship win displays a positive growth in the team’s performance and result. To back this up, McLaren sold a significant minority stake to MSP Sports Capital.

The deal brings in a lot of money, which will only help the team perform better. According to a report, “MSP Sports Capital will invest £185m into McLaren Racing (F1 and IndyCar), acquiring an initial 15% stake that will increase to 33% by the end of 2022, in a deal that values the team at £560m.”
