It is not often that F1 drivers can follow and achieve success in the sport if their fathers had also tasted success in the sport. This has been the case with Max Verstappen and Mick Schumacher as both their fathers, Jos Verstappen and Michael Schumacher, respectively, were also successful in Formula One.

Everyone in Formula One remembers Jos for his aggressive driving style in the 90s., while Michael is arguably the greatest F1 driver of all time, with multiple records and 7 world titles.

The former Ferrari driver even joked that the thought of their kids racing in F1 might cause friction in their friendship. But Jos, like ever, was more serious and revealed that there is a lot of time for that situation to happen.

“We have never had any sort of argument in our friendship. I think this is the first time we could have an argument if our sons would race each other. I think horse riding or golf is a much better sport for kids, isn’t it?” said Schumacher.

“Formula 1 is very far away. You never know what happens after fifteen years. But I really will help him in whatever he wants to do. If he wants to play football, I’ll do everything I can to get the best team to sign him, or whatever,” said Jos.

It is simply astonishing that both their kids are not only racing in Formula One but thriving. Jos’ son, Max, is the current Formula One world champion and one of the most lethal drivers on the grid.

On the other hand, Mick Schumacher has impressed everyone with his confident driving style in his debut season in the sport. It is only a matter of time before the young Schumacher gets a chance at a top team to showcase his real skills.
