What a season the year 2021 delivered for the fans! Red Bull rolled up their sleeves and decided to show who the boss is against the ever-dominant Mercedes. Hence, what followed was an absolutely rapturous 10 months, as Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton got their elbows out in the battle for the championship.
Ultimately, it was the Dutchman who managed to steal the title at the very last minute, ending Red Bull’s long-endured title drought. All in all, the most successful season of the hybrid era for the Milton Keynes outfit.
So, as the year 2021 comes to a close, Red Bull has unveiled a montage video on social media starring the best moments of the title-winning season with the likes of Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, and Christian Horner narrating in the backdrop.

What did Verstappen & Perez say?
In the video, Verstappen pointed out that winning the two races at Red Bull’s home in Austria and his own home race in the Netherlands were the best moments of the 2021 season.
“There have been, I think, a lot of highlights – winning in Monaco, the two home races at Austria, winning my home race at Zandvoort,” the world champion said. Meanwhile, for his teammate, Perez, it was unsurprisingly his first Red Bull race win at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

“It has been the most exciting year in my career, you know, being able to come to a race weekend knowing that if you do things right, you can end up winning,” the Mexican said.

Horner hails amazing season for Red Bull
The Red Bull boss had an interesting way of describing how the season unfolded for the team. Horner admitted that he wasn’t expecting to beat Mercedes to the title in 2021.

“The racing has been phenomenal this year. It’s been an incredible season for us. Competitiveness is testimony to the hard work of everybody back on the campus in Milton Keynes, also our colleagues, Honda, and of course, the drivers doing a wonderful job. It’s a combination of all that!” he said.
“As a team, we are an attacking team. We wanna win. You can see that in the match, you can see that throughout the team in our pit stop and our strategy and our development. That’s the way we go racing, that’s our DNA.”

Overall, that was indeed an intense season for Red Bull, coming up against a resilient team like Mercedes. And well, they managed to break the long reign. But the question is, having opened the floodgates, can Red Bull manage to pile up more such title wins in the coming years against Mercedes?
