This was the first time since 2013 that Red Bull presented a formidable challenge against the Silver Arrows. It is no secret that the sport is dominated by seasoned drivers in “better cars.” And while Red Bull and Honda managed to find an ideal car against the reigning champions in 2021, the quest to repeat those heroics still continues.

Let’s take a look at the all-new RB18 that defending champion Max Verstappen will pilot in 2022.

Former F1 driver compared Max Verstappen to Schumacher and Marquez

Former F1 driver and TV commentator Karun Chandhok recently made a bold comparison between Max Verstappen and F1 great Michael Schumacher. The 2021 season saw calculated aggression and a non-compromising attitude from the Red Bull star.

In a recent column that Chandhok penned down for Sky Sports, he backed Max Verstappen as the rightful champion of the 2021 F1 battle.

“His wheel-to-wheel racing was hard, on the edge of fairness, and at Monza and Jeddah, he even went over the line. But he has an uncompromising style of racing like Michael Schumacher used to.”

Moreover, the Indian TV figure appreciated the consistency and maturity he exhibited on the grid. He also compared the Dutchman’s ability to soak up pressure to MotoGP legend Marc Marquez’s. “His phenomenal ability to soak up pressure at such a young age reminds me of MotoGP ace Marc Marquez,” said Chandhok as reported by PlanetF1.
