WATCH: Sebastian Vettel Opens up on Buying a Championship Winning Williams F1 Car

It’s been exactly a week since it was revealed that Sebastian Vettel had bought the Williams FW14B. The championship-winning car is powered by a 3.5-liter V10 engine. The car dominated the formula 1 grid back in 1992 and ended up registering a whopping 9 wins through that season driven by the former world champion, Nigel Mansell. This car somehow attracted Sebastian that he went on to buy it for himself.
When asked why he opted for Nigel’s car in specific, “ I like the history of the sport, I like the old cars, I like the old drivers“, said the four-time world champion. He even showed his interest in taking the FW14B out for a stroll.
Johnny Herbert asked Vettel when he is planning on taking it out for a drive. “Well, not this year. I mean this year is obviously very busy but yeah probably looking at next year“, replied Sebastian.

What next for Sebastian Vettel?
With Vettel yet to sign a contract with a team for next year, things do not look positive for him at the moment. The Racing Point speculations too seem to be fading away. This could very well be his final season before taking a break for the 2021 season as he is unlikely to retire from F1 altogether. He could still be hoping to make a comeback for the year 2022 with the regulation changes expected to take place.

Vettel entered the season hoping to finish his final year with the Ferrari on a strong note. But that hasn’t been the case for him as nothing seems to be going in his way up until now. Vettel retired from the Italian Grand Prix last weekend due to a brake failure.
