Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc turns 23 today. In honor of his birthday, teammate Sebastian Vettel wished the Monegasque a very happy birthday in a heartwarming video.

In the short, adorable video clip that was captured, Vettel said, “Happy Birthday Charles. I even have a present for you here. It is an original autographed card of yourself. With your age, so that you don’t forget!.

How can you hate this man?!

The video message wishing Leclerc displays the bond that the two drivers share. This is in spite of all that happened on the track during the heated 2019 campaign (remember the Brazilian Grand Prix?). That seems like a distant memory, doesn’t it?

Many predicted a lot more angry outbursts between Vettel and Leclerc prior to the start of this season. However, that hasn’t come to fruition, not yet at least.

Maybe it’s because Ferrari aren’t battling for a title (heck, even a Top-6 finish would make them more than happy). Or the more probable reason is that Vettel and Leclerc are battling in two very different scenarios on the track.

Leclerc has mostly been mixing it with other midfield teams like McLaren, Racing Point, and Renault. Whereas, Vettel has mostly been fighting against the likes of Haas, Alfa Romeo, and even Williams.

Such has been the disparity at the scarlet camp this season.

Sebastian Vettel wishing Charles Leclerc reveals the human side of the German you just can’t hate

Nevertheless, coming back to Vettel’s birthday wish to Leclerc, the video goes to show that athletes have two very different personas.

One is them as an athlete, always hungry for success, always competitive, always self-driven and focused. While the other side is just the purely human side, the side with emotions, just like any other person on this planet.

Credit must be given to athletes who are able to keep their personal life separate from their careers. This video illustrates the same. Besides, we all know Vettel is just an overall nice guy who prefers to keep his personal life to himself.

In a recent interview, he even said that he disliked the fame that came along with success. If that doesn’t go to show the kind of person he is, then we don’t know what will.
