Kevin Magnussen made a sensational return to Haas this season. The Danish signed a multi-year deal with the American outfit following Nikita Mazepin’s exit. Haas terminated their contract with Nikita after the Russian-Ukraine fallout.

Ever since his 2014 debut, Kevin was a prominent F1 driver until he retired with Haas in 2020. The 29-year-old has driven in the IndyCar Series as well as the WEC. Now, as things stand, the Danish will drive alongside Mick Schumacher in the only US-based team.
Amid all this, fans got to witness a resurfaced video of the time when Magnussen made his last appearance in F1. It was the 2020 season finale at Abu Dhabi. Kevin partnered Pietro Fittipaldi in his last race as Romain Grosjean was out injured.
The emotional goodbye message to Kevin Magnussen by Haas
As the Danish international passed the chequered flag, he finished in P18. His engineer and the team members wished him a pretty emotional farewell message on board. The message was, “Chequered flag Kevin. Thank you for four amazing years with us. With you, in the car, we always have a chance on Sunday Kevin. We’ll miss you, buddy, thank you.”

The team boss Guenther Steiner further stated, ” It’s difficult here, I can imagine the car. Thanks for the four great years you were with us. Thank you, brother.”
Haas parted ways with Guenther Steiner and Romain Grosjean at the end of 2020. The American team signed newbie Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin for 2021. Despite having a rough season, Haas decided to retain them for 2022 until the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Haas finished in P10 last season. Interestingly, it was with Magnussen and Grosjean that the Kannapolis-based team picked up their last point in their tally. As the Danish made his sensational return to the sport, it’ll be interesting to see if he can bring Haas back into the points again.
