The current generation of F1 drivers is one of the most exciting in recent years. They have all grown up racing through the karting scenes together, and are very familiar with each other. The current season sees 2 former karting rivals, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, fighting at the front of the grid so far. 2022 has seen somewhat of a Ferrari renaissance, with the F1 giants fighting at the front of the grid. Will it reignite old rivalries?

The “Inchident” 

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the famous karting incident between Verstappen and Leclerc. The long-running meme in the community from their junior years.

The 2 have been going at it from their junior years and now they will be doing it at the front of the grid on the biggest stage. Fans have been going fawning over the possibility of a title fight between the 2.

One more poked fun at Charles Leclerc, and the famous “Inchident”. The 2 have come a long way from those early karting days and will lock horns this season by the looks of it.

The 2 have had a few skirmishes in the past, in their years together in F1, but this is shaping up to be right at the top of the standings. Will we see a title fight or a few “Icnchidents”?

Max Verstappen vs Charles Leclerc in 2022?

The 2022 year has seen Ferrari move to the front of the grid, at least for the time being. The three practice sessions have so far have shown that the Prancing horse means business this season. FP3 saw Verstappen top the timings, just ahead of Charles Leclerc who was less than one-tenth of a second behind.

Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez rounds up the top 3. Fortunately, Mercedes have found some pace as well with George Russell coming in 4th fastest. Carlos Sainz rounded out the top 5, just over half a second slower than Verstappen.
