WATCH: Tom Cruise’s Jubilant Reaction to Lewis Hamilton’s Overtake on Charles Leclerc at British GP

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise made headlines when he was spotted in the Mercedes F1 garage at British Grand Prix. The Mission Impossible actor was present as a special guest of 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

We also saw Cruise cheering for the Mercedes driver when made the racing-winning overtake on Charles Leclerc.

In the race debrief, Mercedes Technical Director James Allison revealed the experience of hosting Tom Cruise. “If I’m honest, most of the time I was thinking my son is going to be really pissed off at me,” said James Allison on meeting Tom Cruise.

He was a charming guest, he was really interested in what we were doing. He wanted to keep a pretty low profile, so he was just listening and talking to us all and was fascinated to be taken around the garage and see the amount of love and care we put in our car,” said Allison.

Mercedes Trackside Engineering Director Andrew Shovlin has mentioned that it would be difficult for Mercedes to perform in Hungary as they did in Silverstone. Shovlin mentioned the team expects Red Bull to have a strong outing in Hungary.

“[Silverstone] is one of our best tracks, so it would be naïve for us to think we can go [to Hungary] and expect to carry this performance in,” said Shovlin.

Red Bull are going to be good at a high-downforce circuit,” he added. “Frankly, they’re good at every circuit at the moment and they’re going to be a bit bruised after the experience [in the British Grand Prix], so I’m sure they’re going to come back really strong,” said Shovlin.
