Yes, you read it right. Tom Cruise indeed drove an F1 car. In a video posted by Red Bull’s Official YouTube channel, the Top Gun star was seen completing a lap in the Red Bull F1 car in 2011. How did the Red Bull drive go for the Superstar?

Red Bull’s former star driver David Coulthard took the opportunity to be Tom’s instructor. The 13-time Grand Prix winner helped and instructed Cruise to drive around the Southern California’s 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) Willow Spring Circuit. Tom reached the top speed of 181 mph (291 kmph).

Although Cruise has had a pilot’s license since 1994, the Top Gun star also has a license to fly helicopters, which has allowed him to demonstrate his abilities in complex aerial sequences in Mission Impossible as well as Top Gun: Maverick. But all of this shouldn’t come as a shock, as we all know that Tom is pretty famous for carrying out his stunts on his own.
