Since the FP1 session in Turkey, Ferrari were extremely pacy and looked like they could be in for a top-10 start to the race. However, the tricky wet conditions meant that neither Charles Leclerc nor Sebastian Vettel could bring their cars into the Q3 in qualifying.

After missing out on Q3, Leclerc took to the team radio to express his disappointment as the Ferrari driver was shocked about the gap between himself and the driver in P1. “We are six seconds off?” Leclerc reacted.

After managing only P14, Leclerc sounded completely frustrated following his car’s sudden drop in performance. “I don’t know what happened,” he told his race engineer. “I had no grip compared to FP3. Absolutely no grip at all.”

He then asked about his teammate, Sebastian Vettel’s performance in a hope that the German’s Ferrari made it into the third part of qualifying.

Was it better for Seb or what?” Leclerc asked. Unfortunately, Leclerc did not get the kind of answer he would have hoped for, as Vettel could only manage P12.

Nevertheless, Ferrari will be eager to come back stronger for the race by figuring out and fixing whatever the problem that led to their cars’ fall in performance.

Can Charles Leclerc see the checkered flag in the top 10 at Istanbul Park?

The Monegasque has done an impeccable job so far in the Ferrari over this season. Despite his car’s lack of pace, he has always pushed his car to the limit and gifted his team with some valuable points.

The upcoming race at the Turkish Grand Prix, too, will not be any different, as Leclerc will definitely be aiming for what could be his sixth consecutive points finish.

However, there could be some trouble heading their way going into tomorrow’s race. The weather during the race is predicted to be as treacherous as it was in Qualifying. Therefore, it might not be advantageous for the Maranello-outfit.

If the conditions turn out to be rough, all Leclerc would want is to stay out of trouble and bring the car home in one piece. Although it might sound simple, most of the drivers felt that it was like driving on ice. Hence, it could well be a herculean job for the Ferrari driver.
