Mercedes technical director James Allison has come up with brilliant news that might excite the Silver Arrows fans. The upcoming season comes with lots of changes in the regulations and will have a record-breaking 23 races. To sustain such a long and hopefully successful season for the Silverstone-based team, James believes his team is ready for the challenge. Undoubtedly, the man in charge thinks that it’s a piece of good news for the fans.
With the oncoming regulation changes, eyes will be set on Mercedes, the eight-time champions, to deliver. According to Allison, the Brackley outfit will do much more.

This season will be notable in terms of changes in regulations ever since the turbo-hybrid era started back in 2014. Allison believes they can make the most of these changes and has the upper hand in it. In an interview on YouTube, the British international conveyed, “It’s not unique to Mercedes to be excited about a regulation set, but it is something I can speak of with the personal experience of having been a part of this team, that we do love it when new regulations come along.”

The new season with new regulations and the take by Mercedes
After an exciting finish of the 2021 season, the anticipation of the upcoming 2022 season is very high; humongous changes coming in place, and the competition getting stiffer day by day. All thanks to the financial cap system, the expectations are now ever-growing. These much-talked-about regulation changes aren’t just huge, but also on a very large scale. They include aerodynamics changes, tire changes, engine freezes, and much more.

Talking about this, the technical director stated, “I’ve been working in the sport for over 20 years and they dwarf anything else I’ve ever seen. I suspect if I were to dig out Wikipedia, go through every season of the sport that there’s ever been, there would be nothing to match the scale of the change that comes with 2022.”

2022 promises to threaten the likes of giants like Mercedes. However, it seems like Silver Arrows are confident in retaining their crown of being the best of the best.
