In the early years of his career, Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger were ‘the’ couple in the F1 paddock. The couple were spotted together frequently and were dubbed as David Beckham and Victoria Beckham of F1.

Sadly, their relationship did not last long, like the Beckhams. After having an on-and-off relationship for about seven years, the couple parted ways in 2015. They dated from 2007 to 2015 and were an integral part of each other’s lives.

As reported by Syndication Bleacher Report, Scherzinger was present at the title celebrations of Hamilton’s first world championship. She was by his side on the occasion and celebrated with great enthusiasm.

While the Mercedes driver and the Pussycat Dolls singer were very much in love, they had incredibly busy schedules throughout the year. Also, the tumultuous on and off nature of their relationship did not help. But the British driver blamed their busy schedules for one of the main reasons behind their decoupling.

“It may be slightly different in that we are traveling as much as we are, and you are just away for crazy amounts of time.”

“So that’s probably an additional weight that makes it really, really tough to hold down a good relationship, and if things aren’t quite perfect,” said the 7-time world champion.

He also mentioned that high-performing athletes have different kinds of mindsets and have to balance their lives. “In general for athletes, having the right mindset and trying to find the right balance of how dedicated you are as opposed to resting back and enjoying your quality time, it’s different for everyone,” added Hamilton.

It is a shame that Hamilton and Scherzinger could not stay as a couple after 2015. Since then, the Mercedes driver has been quite guarded about his personal life while the singer had another high-profile relationship with Tennis player Grigor Dimitrov, which came to an end in early 2019.

It is not clear whether the pair has been in contact with each other since the breakup. But hopefully, both of them are in a much happier space in their individual lives.
