Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton was involved in a horrific incident at the Italian Grand Prix. He suffered a DNF at the race after getting into a crash with championship rival Max Verstappen, whose car landed on top of Hamilton’s. In a close up video of the crash, the rear tire of the Dutchman’s car can been sitting bumping the Briton’s head.

While the Halo prevented the crash from getting worse, the Mercedes driver did experience some health concerns; he stated he had a sore neck and headache, and was seen with black bandages on his neck.

And now the very next day, after escaping a scary accident, Hamilton posted a story on his Instagram to inform his fans that he was in New York.

What is the 7-time world champion doing in New York?

It is widely reported that Lewis Hamilton has flown to New York to attend the Annual Met Gala 2021. He is a known entity in the world of fashion, as he has his own fashion line with Tommy Hilfiger.

In his Insta story, we can see Hamilton in a car, informing everyone where he is in New York. “Good Morning. Right through the very heart of it, New York,” said Lewis.

The Met Gala is known as the biggest fashion event of the year. Last year, the event was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. But this year, celebrities will grace the red carpet of the coveted event with their themed outfits. Although it is unclear which brand will Hamilton will represent at the event.

Lewis Hamilton is a big fan of fashion and of the Met Gala. He had previously attended the event in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. He has worn some of the most iconic outfits in recent times.

The Mercedes driver posted a throwback of the 2019 Met Gala.

“Throwback to the Met Gala 2019 👀I don’t think there is an event in the world where people put so much work and effort into making their looks the best they can possibly be.

“This is by far my favorite event. Anna is amazing at what she does and to have been invited for the past few years really has been an honor. Such a vast eclectic group of talented and inspiring people.” said Hamilton on his experience.

Other than Met Gala, Hamilton has also attended many fashion weeks, such as the recently concluded Paris Couture Week.
