The senior Dutchman looked rather animated throughout the weekend. And one can understand why. He is craving for the moment where Verstappen lifts the first-ever world championship trophy, not only for himself but for the entire Verstappen family.

What did Jos Verstappen say?

Speaking to CarNext.com, Jos Verstappen opened up about the moment where Verstappen won his very first race with Red Bull Racing, back in 2016 in Barcelona.

I want him to be the best. He came in Barcelona and jumped into this team and then bam! He wins the first race. I mean, that was so emotional. That was our first goal,” he said.

When I see him racing… But, that’s how he is, that’s how he did it already the year before, and they can say Max has changed a lot. But, in my opinion, he did not change a lot. But, what has changed is he has a better car. The attitude, the character has not changed that much.”

Max Verstappen will go for it: Jos

The former F1 driver affirmed that Max winning an F1 championship title is the entire family’s dream, as he reckoned the young Red Bull driver would do everything possible to achieve the target.

A lot of eyes are on it, and that makes it also, I think, more nerve-wracking definitely for me,” Jos said.

For him, it’s just another race and he will drive as fast as he can and try to win the race. For me as a father and standing and can’t help him and you know, I’m already nervous about it. I know that Max will do everything possible to achieve what we dreamed of. And he will go for it. I’m sure about that.

Overall, a very intense weekend lies ahead for the Verstappen family, as Max gives his one final attempt at beating Hamilton to secure his first-ever world championship title. But, will the 7-time world champion obstruct it?
