Over the past few days, Lewis Hamilton has been receiving quite a lot of attention amidst his subtle yet noticeable absence from social media. Following the heartbreaking Abu Dhabi GP, the Briton went off-radar by hardly ever giving any updates through social media, something that is highly uncharacteristic for him.
He then unfollowed F1’s official Instagram handle, which consequently fueled the speculations that he could well be retiring from the sport altogether.
Then arrived an even more shocking move from the 7-time world champion; Hamilton ended up unfollowing every single entity he had previously followed. And now, his list of followers stands at zero.

“Shut down completely. Why bother when the world is such a mess and people don’t seem to care? I’m going to take a moment away to gather my thoughts. Thank you to those of you who do give a damn about the world,” he wrote on social media.
