It’s incredible just how much time, effort, and sacrifice it takes to be a Formula 1 driver. F1 is one of the very few sports that are completely global in nature. With a calendar that takes place over 5 continents, drivers mostly remain away from home or, for a lack of a better phrase, ‘the normal life.’

So, during the very narrow window between the end of one season and the start of the next, a window that is hardly 2 months, drivers either stay at their homes or jet away to a holiday destination.

And currently, this is the holiday season, a time in which drivers recharge their batteries and relax, and after a year of trying to be the fastest, they try to slow down. This is something they’ll need, considering the race calendar we have in store for 2022.

So let’s take a look at where some of the F1 drivers are in this off-season currently.

Where are the Formula 1 drivers in the holidays?

McLaren star Lando Norris seems to be in Dubai, as his social media activity suggests.

And Aston Martin driver, Sebastian Vettel, spent his New Year’s skiing in Arlberg. While another veteran, Fernando Alonso spent his New Year’s in Spain which his most recent story of cycling tells us.

The Ferrari duo who are expected to be title contenders next season are spending their holidays in quite opposite ways.

While Sainz is at home with his family, Leclerc is spending his holidays with his girlfriend and his friends in Mexico. In fact, Red Bull driver Sergio Perez even commented on Leclerc’s recent Instagram post, “Best place in the World!!”

As for the other Red Bull driver and the current F1 world champion, Max Verstappen, he is spending his much-earned break with his girlfriend Kelly Piquet in Miami. He was also spotted with Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez in a nightclub in Miami.

Another F1 driver in the US is Alpha Tauri’s main man, Pierre Gasly, who recently uploaded a story on his Instagram of the Madison Square Garden.

Former Mercedes and current Alfa Romeo driver, Valtteri Bottas welcomed the new year before everyone else as he was on the Sydney Harbor in Australia.

All in all, we wish all the Formula 1 drivers, their families, and their teams Happy Holidays. We hope they come back stronger than ever and give us fans, another unforgettable season.
