According to reports coming out of his home country of Brazil, Piquet has been caught red-handed in a case of jewelry robbery! What’s more, the apparent haul is worth a whopping $3,200,000. Needless to say, if prosecuted, which he most definitely will be, the 70-year-old will be spending a lot of days behind bars.

You’d expect there to be some sort of urgency and panic in the Piquet household. Well, the truth is quite the opposite. 2x champion, Max Verstappen‘s GF and daughter to Nelson Piquet, Kelly Piquet is in the mood for a holiday with her beau.

The Brazilian model took to her Instagram stories earlier today to share a snap from her escapades. Dubbed the ‘Isle of Beauty’, Corsica is the choice of retreat for Piquet as her father faces a possible long-term prison sentence.

There seems to be a deeper reason here at play than just simple abandonment.

Kelly Piquet is a staunch supporter of Piquet Sr.

You’d expect Kelly Piquet to ensure that her father stays in line. That becomes ever more important for the family given that now they are firmly in the spotlight as Verstappen embarks on a journey towards F1 immortality.

But an incident from the past seems to show what Kelly Piquet’s mindset is really like. According to The New York Post, in 2022, “Max Verstappen’s girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, liked a social media post defending her father, Nelson, after a racist slur against Lewis Hamilton.”
