Brazil loves the 7-time champion, Lewis Hamilton. And to put a stamp on that, he has now been officially made an honorary Brazilian citizen. Hamilton was felicitated with the citizenship of Brazil this week. Furthermore, street artist Eduardo Kobra paid a fitting tribute to the king of Formula 1 with a Senna-like mural.

Hamilton will be looking to repeat the heroics of last year in his ‘home race’ this weekend. The Mercedes driver has been in blistering form for the last few weeks. He has finished P2 in consecutive races and will hope to better that by finishing on the top spot of the podium in front of his fans.

There is no denying that Lewis Hamilton and the Brazilian people share a special bond. Moreover, famous street artist Eduardo Kobra paid a fitting tribute to the new Brazilian citizen by making a huge mural of Hamilton in Sao Paulo.

Hamilton humbly commented, “incredible. Thank you,” on his Instagram post of the artwork. Eduardo Kobra’s work utilizes bright colors and bold lines. He also tries to stick to a kaleidoscope theme throughout his art. His larger-to-life murals are often fascinating and leave his audience stunned.

One of his most notable works includes the iconic mural of Brazilian legend Ayrton Senna at the Interlagos Raceway.

The former McLaren driver also teamed up with the Brazilian artist for his collaboration of the plus44world merchandise. The limited-edition products are available for this week and only and all the proceeds will go to support a local project.

Throwback to the first time Lewis Hamilton was introduced to Eduardo Kobra’s work

This isn’t the first time Lewis Hamilton has received one of Eduardo Kobra’s artwork. Senna’s family gifted Lewis one of Ayrton’s race-worn helmets in Canada in 2017. Moreover, Lewis was presented with a replica of his Mercedes F1 car featuring a portrait of Senna painted by Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra at a Petronas event in 2017.
