Every driver needs a PR manager to handle the media. Whether it’s press conferences or interviews after a session, a PR manager is responsible for handling it all. For Lando Norris, this responsibility falls on the shoulders of Charlotte Sefton.

While the Briton is making a mark on-track this season, Sefton is quite active in helping him off-track. One may often find her alongside Norris at the track side interviews, guiding him to the various microphones in the media area.

Sefton started her career in PR as an account executive at Automotive PR. After a year, she joined HPS Jardine Group as a senior account executive. In 2014, she joined McLaren as a PR officer after spending two years with Jardine.

Since then, she moved up the ranks year after year, before attaining the role of F1 Communications Manager in January this year. From organising car launches to accompanying Norris at track side interviews, Sefton is one of the most visible figures in the McLaren team today.

While she makes her mark in F1, Sefton revealed her obsession goes back to her days as a seven-year old. She said“My first memories of F1 are from the age of about seven, when grands prix meant loads of noise on the TV after Sunday lunch.

Before long I was hooked, my Dad and I ardently supporting different teams and shouting at the TV. It took over my life, and from then on I knew I wanted to pursue a career in F1.”
