Who is Nikita Mazepin’s Performance Coach – Ben Thorne?

Formula One drivers go through intense training to perform their best during a Grand Prix weekend. Hence, every driver on the grid has a performance coach that helps reach that level. Haas‘ Nikita Mazepin has Ben Thorne as his performance coach in his rookie year on the grid.

Before forming an alliance with the Russian driver, Thorne used to be a performance coach for a number of English clubs. Now working in F1, he will aim to help Mazepin perform at peak levels.

Who’s Nikita Mazepin’s performance coach?

In his rookie year on the grid, Mazepin joined forces with Thorne to be his performance coach. Thorne previously worked with football clubs in England, such as Arsenal FC, Middlesbrough FC, Aston Villa FC & Southampton FC.

Additionally, he also has expertise in sports science, exercise science, rehabilitation, exercise performance, sports biomechanics, strength conditioning, exercise physiology, sports injuries, sports physiology & exercise testing.

Apart from helping Mazepin during a Grand Prix weekend, Thorne also has interests in surfing, mountain biking, and even went to a basketball game with Mazepin.

A tough year for the duo at Haas

Mazepin has been struggling to make an impact this season at Haas in his rookie year. With the help of Thorne, he will aim to push himself to the limit and get the best result possible.

With his teammate, Mick Schumacher, having better progress than him, he will look to his close aide, Thorne, to beat the German driver when they battle each other.
