The Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, Bahrain hosted the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 31, 2019, during the second weekend of the season. Since its entry into the F1 calendar, the venue has hosted 15 race weekends.

The circuit covers a length of 5.412 kilometers with 57 laps. Lewis Hamilton, with his striking performance, crossed the checkered flag for the race. The final outcome of the race was Lewis Hamilton leading Valtteri Bottas, followed by Charles Leclerc.

It was a neck-to-neck battle between Ferrari and Mercedes throughout the weekend. Charles Leclerc aced the qualifying, followed by Sebastian Vettel, and further by Valtteri Bottas and his teammate.
In the main race, the Ferrari cockpits were running ahead of everyone until the mid-laps drama. Subsequently, Hamilton had praised the racing strategy of both Leclerc and Vettel ahead of the practice session.
Events that led Mercedes to boss the race
It was during lap 38 after Vettel spun in the track and paved a way for the seven-time world champion to overtake and further take the lead. Furthermore, Bottas gained over Leclerc in the course too. However, the team later asserted it was because of Leclerc’s chassis failure that he lost his first stand.
The 97,000 spectators anticipated that during the end laps Verstappen would catch up on Leclerc too. However, the Renault cockpits retreated from the race due to their chassis malfunction, letting the safety car patrol in the circuit. Further, Leclerc grabbed the opportunity to clinch on his first podium finish.

Vettel was going great until the car wreck at the fourth turn further pushed him down the score chart, to fifth. His car spun and created a massive disruption, leading to a series of events.

The German stated, “I just lost the car very suddenly and once I spun then it was obviously too late. Unfortunate that we had so much damage with the tyres that it caused the front wing to fail so yeah, not great.”

Eventually, with all the drama and no monotony in the race, Hamilton glued to his prime rank with his phenomenal racing style. It was his 74th title of the career and the third at the same location. Bottas also grappled very well with his teammate to get to share the podium with him and Leclerc.
