Once upon a time, Formula 1’s biggest icon and the most successful driver in history, Lewis Hamilton, was dating Grammy-nominated artist, Nicole Scherzinger. Hamilton has been one of the most admired drivers in F1 for many-many years, while Scherzinger has also made a name for herself in her musical, dancing, television, and acting career.

The couple dated each other on an on-off basis from 2007 before their eventual split in 2015. Their relationship was the subject of many a story in British tabloids.

Their breakup resulted in disappointment for their fans.

Why did Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton break up?

In a 2019 interview, Hamilton hinted at the possible reason his relationship with Scherzinger just couldn’t endure itself. The seven-time world champion said that being an F1 driver requires an awful lot of time in traveling alone.

“It may be slightly different in that we are travelling as much as we are, and you are just away for crazy amounts of time,” Hamilton said. He added, “So that’s probably an additional weight that makes it really, really tough to hold down a good relationship, and if things aren’t quite perfect.

“In general for athletes, having the right mindset and trying to find the right balance of how dedicated you are as opposed to resting back and enjoying your quality time, it’s different for everyone.”

While Nicole Scherzinger suggested several issues for their breakup, but mainly it was her going through a phase in her life.

The 2010 Dancing With The Stars winner said, “Sometimes people stay in relationships because they get complacent, because it’s comfortable for them, because they don’t want to be alone.”

“It’s a new chapter in my life. I’m going through a very transformative time in my life.”

Who is Nicole Scherzinger dating now?

Currently, Scherzinger is dating Rugby player Thom Evans. The two of them have been together for some time now and they made their relationship public in 2020.

They first met when Scherzinger was a judge at the X-Factor and Evans was a participant.

While Lewis Hamilton’s personal life has largely slipped off the radar lately, the same cannot be said about his professional career.
